10-24-2017 – Norco – Every year, the Corona-Norco Unified School District takes part in the Great California Shake Out, which is a statewide earthquake drill. The scheduled drill took place last Thursday, October 19, 2017. It was a district-wide drill. The activity tested our earthquake procedures.
The drill enables us to evaluate how prepared we are for a major earthquake. The purpose is to discover areas where improvement is needed, raise the level of awareness among the students and staff, and stress the need to plan an effective response to emergencies. The drill simulated a 7.8 magnitude earthquake.
In a real emergency situation, please remember students will be kept at school until they are released to parents, guardians, or those listed on the emergency card at the designated reunification area. Please inform the school if any information on your emergency card changes.
