12-18-2017 – Corona – Jefferson Elementary has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The effort was led by Corona Historic Preservation Society board members Mary and Richard Winn, who got help over the years from the school’s now-retired librarian, MaryAnn Sherman, with protecting historic features at the school.

Jefferson Elementary was added to the California Register of Historical Resources on July 28. The school opened in 1928.
