7-31-2017 – Eastvale – The Third Annual ‘Literacy is Everywhere’ Conference kicked off Wednesday, July 26 & Thursday, July 27. The conference was a huge success and a perfect way to start the 2017 – 2018 school year.

Teachers, administrators, and para-professional from all over the Southern California area were in attendance this year. Keynote speakers included Pam Allyn, Carol Jago, Byron Garrett, Allison Marchetti, and Rebekah O’Dell.

The purpose of undertaking the task of putting together a conference based on ‘Literacy is Everywhere’, is to emphasize that teachers of all disciplines are teachers of literacy. When students experience powerful reading and writing instruction across all curricular areas, they are far more likely to succeed in college, career, and civic life.

“The goal is to launch the literacy focus for the year and get teachers engaged in the thinking about literacy focus and its implications and manifestations in the classroom,” said Phillip Saxena, Director of Professional Development, Educational Services.
